Tummy Troubles

Written by my tiny tank on . Posted in Chronicles, Sour Stomach

The last few days I have been having tummy troubles.  Not sure what is triggering it.  I’m not eating anything different.  But at night after dinner I tend to have the “stuck” feeling.  Like my tummy just doesn’t want to digest the meal.  It’s not like I feel as if I need to “give back” my meal just like it’s sitting there.  In the past I would have waited it out.  Oh you all know how that is.  It makes for a long night of being uncomfortable.  You feel distracted and basically can’t enjoy anything because all you can think about is your stomach.

I wanted to share with you something that has made these last few nights bearable.  Papaya Enzymes!

I know?! What the heck are they.  Well a lapband friend had shared this secret with me.  They are a chewable tablet that actually tastes ok.  Kind of fruity.  You chew up about three small tablets after your meal and it helps to break down the food in your stomach.  Ahhhhhh.  Thank you Lord!  Where have these been for the past 11 years!  How I could have used them on many occasions when my tiny tank just did not want to cooperate.

So sour stomach for me can mean a few things.  (I hope I’m not going to get too graphic for some of you.  So if you are squeamish just scroll down to the bottom to see the Papaya Enzymes I am using.)

So sour stomach for me can mean a few things:

  • a kind of heartburn feeling
  • a gas / blot feeling
  • or a food “not digesting” feeling

Over the years I’ve figured out what works for me.  Let me just say here that you should always ask your doctor before trying some new to address a sick feeling.

For a heartburn feeling I use Peptobismal chews

For a gas or blot feeling I use GasX

and now for the food not digesting feeling; which I have never been able to do anything about… I use Papaya Enzymes!!

My night tonight was made better because of these fruity chews.  I am very thankful that I have these in my medicine cabinet when I need them.  Thank you Wendy for suggesting them to me.  It was good advice!!
