Top Ten Blogs Followed in 2012

Written by my tiny tank on . Posted in Chronicles, Top 10

I think I’ve told you this before.  I read a lot of blogs.  I subscribe to way more than I probably should.  But I love blogging and therefore I love reading blogs.  My inbox is filled each day.  I’ve gotten good at scanning for good information and I must say I love love love when I read a blog post that is well written.  It’s funny that I feel this way because, I’m not sure my writing ranks in that same category, yet.  From my count I current subscribe to 45 blogs.  Here are my top 10 for 2012.

20121206 235530 Top Ten Blogs Followed in 2012It was hard to pick just ten.  So please do not take my top ten choice personally if I read your blog and you are not here.  I kinda had to stick to my “theme.”  Well maybe I’ll slip a few more in there at end.

I read more than just weight loss blogs.  So I am going to list a variety of blogs to make up my top ten.  They will be in no particular order other than #1 which is the blog that inspired me to blog.

So here we are the top ten blogs I’ve been reading in 2012.

10.  Beariatric

Tom is a fellow weight loss surgery blogger.  Tom is one of those great writers.  When he posts he has something valuable to say and it is eloquently written.

9.  All the Weigh

Kenlie is a weight loss blogger.  She has lost a dramatic amount of weight through diet and exercise.  She leverages Weight Watchers and Exercise.  She loves to exercise.  She is also very candid in her posts and talks about things that we all experience, except she talks about them.

8.  300 Pounds Down

Holly is an amazing inspiration to me.  She has overcome huge obstacles to be where she is today.  She is a mother and sister.  She is very committed to her currently journey of weight loss after surgery.  I am honored to follow her journey and find motivation in her words.  She too is one of those great writers that I love to read!!

7.  the world according to egg face

This may not be a surprise.  Shelly is a great resource for the weight loss surgery community.  She is a cook and we need to eat good, appealing food so we need to be inspired and Shelly does exactly this.  Her protein rich recipes will get you through when your food seems dull.

6.  Six Sisters Stuff

Not a weight loss blog AT ALL.  But these sisters have some great ideas.  And I’ve pulled some great recipe ideas from their posts.  Beware may be some not so diet friendly stuff but I am stuck on this blog and love reading it everyday

5.  Fooducate

I like this blog for it’s keen food research.   They have an iphone app but I don’t use it.  I  just read the blog and I’ve learned a lot form them this year.  It will remain on my list this year.

4.  Dr Mercola

This blog is a main stay for me and my husband.  He challenges mainstream medicine.  I like that.  If you always believe the doctors you won’t be interested.  But if you like to look beyond then you may find here what I have.  I have to say some of the biggest changes I have made have been inspired by articles on this site.

3.  Remake My Plate

Penny a fellow weight loss surgery blogger, she is now studying to help others with nutrition.  What a life change.  She has great ideas about nutirition and weight loss surgery in her blog.

2.  Melting Mamma

Beth just says it like it is.  I like that.  I need that.  I tend to be too nice.  Beth gives me courage to speak up.  And she is nice.

1.  Just Roni  (formally Roni’s Weigh)

Roni is my blogging inspiration. But really she is a girl who has lost upwards to 80 pounds and kept it off.  She loves food and exercise.  Has small children.  I can relate to her in many ways and for this I love her blog.  She is a great photographer and her daily blog is filled with colorful, happy pictures; including some amazing food pictures.  Did I mention she also has a recipe blog.  Green Lite Bites

Ok I just HAD to list all the Blogs I Follow.

I’m making a mental note to check out the ones I’m not familiar with later this evening…always glad to find others to check out. I follow Eggface and Melting Mama and have since pre-op. Another one of my favorites is Bariatric Foodie…she has some great recipes and I have to credit hers with my addiction to Chike Iced Coffee (I won her giveaway over the summer and have been hooked on it since…).

Tracy, Thank you for including me on this list. I am honored. I so look forward to your Facebook posts and blog entries. It is refreshing to see a very long term bariatric post-op maintain and motivate others. Your blog is living proof that we all must work hard to be healthy and maintain our weight loss after WLS.

I discovered some new blogs from your list. Awhile back you shared a link to 300 Pounds Down. I enjoy her blog. She has a unique writing style that makes you feel part of her story. Keep on blogging!

Hi Tom. It’s my pleasure. I truly enjoy every blog you write. I’m inspired by your active lifestyle. It is hard work. But I see it as loving myself. I love myself therefore I care for myself. Easy concept over forty years to learn it. I made it!!! Thanks for commenting!!
