Special Sunday Outing

Written by my tiny tank on . Posted in Best Part of My Day, Chronicles, Eating Out, Family Time, Holidays

It’s summers end and the coolness is creeping into the air. That’s ok with me as I’ve always loved Fall. We headed into the city today for a special Sunday meal. By the ocean there was quite a breeze. I actually donned my first scarf of the season! Here are a few pictures of us at dinner today.

Eating out can be a challenge but if you plan ahead you’ll do better. Decide whether you will indulge and decide ahead of time what that will be. Don’t make it about portion but more about satisfying your indulgence.

For me today it was fried clams. Now I have a four clam maximum. That’s about it for me. I know that. I had decided ahead of time that I would enjoy some today. So I ordered them with no intentions of finishing the plate. I had four and was satisfied. Yummy. My husband was happy to share as he always is.

I actually have to say I enjoy watching my son eat!! He loves foods no eight year old should. It’s like entertainment listening to his dialogue with the server. Today was no different.

Cheers to all of you on this holiday. Wishing you a relaxing holiday weekend enjoying family and friends. I know my boys and I had a great day in the city. After lunch we had a long walk along the waterfront.

Loved the pics! You look gorgeous! Your son is cute!! I like what you said about pre-deciding before you go in a restaurant. Great advice!!

Hi Holly. Yeah it seems funny… Plan to eat a “bad” food. But I’ve kind of gotten away from the “bad” “good” game. I know I wanted the clams. So I had a controlled plan. And I went into the restaurant with my “4 clam maximum” mind set. It worked. And I didn’t waste time during my wonderful, sunny, breeze, family lunch worries about what I was and was not going to eat!
