Ship Wrecked
Warning, if you’re not up for more deserted island stories then don’t read any further. This place Parrot Cay is just as it appears on its website. Paradise. Remember that picture I had on my Facebook page cover? Well here it is. And I took this picture this morning!! We’ve been walking the beach each morning before breakfast. Not a soul here. Almost like we were ship wrecked.

Today we had an excursion planned on a catamaran. For half the day we were going to do some snorkeling, sand dollar hunting and some fishing. Captain Dennis pictured here with Ryan is the director of all boating operations on the island. His first mate today was Jimmy Lee, the sweetest most patient soul. He mentored Ryan through many firsts today. First snorkeling. And first time fishing!!

Ryan was keenly interested in the GPS systems on the boat. The kid loves a map and anything electronic.

We slathered ourselves with sunscreen. Notice our ghostly hues!? I can only bring myself to use the all natural sunscreens which never quite soaks in. The idea of letting tons of chemicals seep into our skin creeps me out.
We snorkeled over a ship wrecked boat which was AWESOME! We all agreed snorkeling was the best part of the day. All three of us would have stayed there all day swimming with the fish! No pictures of that. I vowed to acquire a water camera for future ship wrecks!!
I was so happy in the water with my boys! As a girl I was always on the water with my father on his boats. Lived barefoot, salty haired in a bathing suit all summer long. If I was home I’d insert here a picture of that chunky bikini clad little brown girl. You can still see her a ways down in this post just as happy in her bathing suit.
What a delight to share this love with both my husband and my son. Now mind you we don’t get to do this often. And I’m thinking we should really do it more. I’ve noted this and will begin to save me pennies again.
The fishing did not pan out with results. At least not for today. Other plans have been made for more fishing this week. But Jimmy Lee taught Ryan what he needed to know. He was a great teacher.

It was an amazing day. We all got too much sun. But it was way worth it. And we’ll be up again early tomorrow for some more ship wrecked fun!!
