If Every Day Were Like Today

If you use My Fitness Pal to track your food than you know the phrase “If Every Day Were Like Today…. You’d weigh XXX.X lbs in 5 weeks.”  You get to see this prediction after you “complete your food entry” for the day.  It is very inspiring when you see it because 5 weeks doesn’t seem so far away and you think I CAN DO THAT.

Funny thing happened one day on Pinterest…  I must admit I am not a social media lover.  Some of you may be surprised by this.  Well I’ve always loved Twitter.  It’s easy and can be local or global and if there is any thing you want to know that is going on you can immediately find it on Twitter.  Facebook has been a love hate relationship

breakfast love

Do you eat enough for breakfast?  Maybe you skip breakfast or only have coffee.  Eating breakfast is important for me.  Not eating breakfast is a guaranteed start to a bad eating day.  If I skip breakfast I typically eat way more at lunch and ALWAYS make choices that I wouldn’t if I wasn’t so hungry.

Ode to My Boys

I was alone all day today working in my home office. After a while it was too quiet and I missed my boys. I’m happiest with my boys. Tonight I was browsing through some pictures from this past year. I’m in the pictures now. I wasn’t for a long time. I took the pictures. I didn’t want to be in the pictures. Now I want to be… With my boys!

Top Ten from My Tiny Tank

I think I’ve told you this before.  I read a lot of blogs.  I subscribe to way more than I probably should.  But I love blogging and therefore I love reading blogs.  My inbox is filled each day.  I’ve gotten good at scanning for good information and I must say I love love love when I read a blog post that is well written.  It’s funny that I

Have you ever been so dazzled by a person that you are convinced they are the one for you.   The one who can make you happy.  You can see no other.  This is a very naive behavior because you are overlooking yourself.  You are valuing someone more than yourself.  You are overlooking your power of self.  Have you ever broken

It’s the new year. I don’t have to tell you that. One of the biggest changes you can make (if you don’t already do this) is to pack your own lunch for work. Are you doing this? What’s holding you back?  I pack lunches for me and my boys each day. For years I only packed for them and not me. Why?  I wasn’t valuing me. It was more important

2013 Bring it On!

I promised that I would reveal my goals for 2013.  I’ve been reviewing last years goals.  Improving my exercise was my shining succes this year.  I am so proud of this.  My body is proof of the benefits of regular exercise.  And yes my pants are loose.  I love it.  Way to go Tracy.  I’ve made progress this year.  Here’s what I improved:

Portion Control for Life

small plate

So this was a big topic today in my Facebook group. Well I guess I call it a big topic because I was all juiced up about it. A fairly new post op weight loss surgery friend was talking about her dilema now with cooking for her family. Since she no longer eats a normal size portion she was finding that there were way too many leftovers.

Feeling Good in Your Own Skin

Ahh doesn’t that sounds good. Feeling good being you. Whether you have been or are an overweight person I know you can understand this. We have one body. It is our home. Yeah funny to think of it that way. But this is something I have been thinking about. We need to respect and love this home. It is our place of peace and comfort. If you’re not feeling peace and comfort in your own skin it can be a very lonely world.

It happens to us all. We take that “one more bite.” The one we thought about before we put it in our mouths. We actually considered not having it. But maverickly consumed usually with haste. Maybe my stomach won’t notice because my mind really wants that last taste. Do you really need that last bite? Nutritionally? Of course not.

The last thing I want to be is a spammer. I write pretty much everyday and you may be receiving an email from me every time I blog. How often would you like to receive email blog posts from me? Did you know you have an option! Maybe you’d rather receive a weekly recap of my blog posts. Then you can read them Saturday morning with your

I Only Eat Foods that I Like

foods I like

I only eat foods that I like.  This may seem silly to say, but as a person who was overweight since childhood I spent a lot of time eating foods that were “good for me.”  Most of these foods I just didn’t like but ate them because it was what was on the diet.  So as I became an adult I vowed never to eat anything I didn’t like just because it was good

Note to Self

Pat yourself on the back. Ever since you had weight loss surgery your immune system has been stellar! You are never sick. And when you are, your body fights like a little champ. Note: I just referred to myself as “little.” Wow, now that’s a non-scale victory. I digress. Pat yourself on the back for eating good wholefoods to nourish your

I’m a gadget girl for sure.  And my boys are too.  There is a lot of technology in our house.  We’re an active family too.  But I must say, ever since I started training for my 5K this year did the exercise bug get contagious around my house.  I followed the Couch to 5K program to get ready for Gabes Run where I was going to be

gym friendly

First week of the year.  The gym is packed with people filled with passion towards their new years resolutions.  Did you know that 80% of new years resolutions are related to health?  Some of the new people at the gym this week are there to lose weight, others to tone up, others to get fit, perhaps others to please someone else.

The title of this post is a personal joke I have with my college roommate.  I chuckle every time I think of it and I smile too because I know she is doing the same.  Have you ever had a belief about something that is mainstream and you are just not willing to agree with it or give it a try?  Sometimes we get stuck in our ways.  We never

Tracy sledding

We had snow this week! And Santa brought sleds this year so you know what that means…. SLEDDING. We got out early today and hit this HUGE hill in town. You must see the panoramic picture I took of the view from the top. You won’t believe the beauty. I was in awe when I got to the top of the hill. When we were packing up

I wanted to write a post today because I saw another weight loss surgery bloggers post and I thought it was so important to share. Even when you don’t feel like doing it…Just strap on your kicks and do something.  Do anything.  Get out there and get our feet moving.  Do what you can.  Because if you do nothing than you’ve done nothing.  But if you do something, than you’ve been victorious.  You’ve beat that voice in your head.

Numbers

So it’s true I’m a numbers girl.  In fact it was even made apparent to me at work today when the holiday gift tag on the bottle of wine from my manager said  ”To Tracy “Data.”  Yes, I loved numbers as a kid.  Studied to achieve a math/science like degree.  Married a man who loves numbers and even made a child who loves

Rafeals Bike

So this week was a whirlwind. I’m just thinking… when have I not had a whirlwind week?! But this week, well the beginning of the week, besides lots of work, I was consumed by the process of buying a new car! Wait two new cars! Yikes. It was a fun process but time consuming and TIRING! So I was a bit neglectful with my social media outlets.
