Lunch Packed To Go

Written by my tiny tank on . Posted in A Day in My Tiny Tank, Chronicles, Meal Planning, Planning/Tracking Your Food, Protein Shakes, Quick Meals

Wake up in the morning…. ok I have that song in my head!  Twice a week I commute a long distance to my office.  I leave way before the boys even think about waking up.  I roll out of bed and into my running clothes, pack lunches/breakfasts, and jump in the car.  Off to my office where I will run and work for the day.  It won’t be at least 12 hours until I am home again.  What does this mean?  I NEED to plan my food!

I typically do not buy my lunch at work.  I if I do I will do a scoop of egg or chicken salad from the deli.  But truly I prefer bringing my own food.

Today this is what I packed!

I’ve got my Fage full fat greek yogurt with rasberries, my favorite iced chai tea latte and 2 protein shakes set up in my blender bottles.  I like the little blender bottles since I can’t take in too much liquid at one time.  And if you use the big bottle the straw gets lost!

Here’s all our lunches lined up and ready to GO.  When the boys are up they can grab and go!

The boys each get a lunch.  And I pack everything up in my fancy lunch bag.  I’ll need my chai tea for my long ride to the office.

When I get home at night I will have a small protein meal with my boys, like this one.

I have to share with you that for years I have packed my husbands breakfast and lunch for him.  I never packed mine.  Why?  I wasn’t putting myself first.  For the past year I have been bringing my breakfast and lunch to work.  It is so much better!  It has made a difference in the choices I make.

Take the time to plan your lunches to GO.  Do it ahead of time.  Have it ready for you when you get up in the morning.  I actually pre plan the night before.  Lining bags up and getting dry foods into bag to save time.

What do you bring for lunch?

My fave go to is tuna but I keep babybel in the fridge as a quick last minute grab and go as well as portioned sized bags of turkey jerky. The liquid I have not had any issues with. I can easily drink 16 oz in a half hour to 45 min. I think I am thankful for that.
