Just a Rainy Weekend
So there was nothing all that exciting about this weekend. It was rainy and cold and I spent most of the weekend trying to get warm. Post weight loss surgery it’s hard to get warm once your cold. It almost feels as if your core gets cold and that’s it. The only thing I can do once I’m cold is take a hot shower or tub to get warmed up. Well I found something that helped keep me warm. I got it at the day spa last week. They gave me one during my treatment and I didn’t want to give it back. It’s made by BosySense and is an herbal warming pillow.
- Relaxes sore muscles, eases away pain and stiffness
- Provides penetrating moist heat
- Natural relaxant and pain reliever
- No electric cords to limit your movement
- Reduces swelling when used cold
When I took it to bed with me I thought the best part about this pillow was how long it kept it’s warmth. My husband was happy that I wasn’t rubbing my cold feet and hands up against something other than him to get warmed up.
So when it gets cold I tend to want to cook more, make soup and yummy comfort food. I was sparked on Saturday to make something new. This was a winner! It was so quick and easy and the Taste Tester gave it a HUGE thumbs up!

I even had a chance to post this recipe on Sassy Girl Kitchen. Oh how I try to add my recipes here. It is the one thing I wish I could do more of and I promise this winter season I will do my best to get more recipes out there on the site. You can LIKE the SassyGirlKitchen Facebook page or sign up to receive recipes by email when I post them using the fancy sign up box on Sassy Girl Kitchen.
We didn’t get outside as much as we would have wanted to this weekend.
There were TV dinners

and board games.

If you haven’t try the game Ticket to Ride, it is worth a look. We try to turn off the electronic devices as much as we can and “be” together. Board games are a great way to do this. And nothing like a rainy day and a board game. I sipped on a hot chai tea latte and played with the boys. I love this game!
Ryan is the master at the game. I think it is because he has the Ticket to Ride – Days Of Wonder, Inc. iPad app and has played it way more than the two of us. He slaughtered us today! I wanted a rematch but I’ll have to wait until next time.
Of coures there was Bacon Sunday! My husband couldn’t do without his protein shake this morning so he asked for “Shake n’ Bacon.” This made me laugh and I’ve been giggling about it all day. Get it, Shake and Bacon, HA!

Oh and one of the best things of the weekend, you know that remote control we lost a month ago that I searched and searched for fearing that it had ended up in one of the many Lego bins.
The one I ended up buying one online because I just couldn’t look for it anymore. Well the recliner decided to gave it back to us tonight. Damn! I frisked that recliner like I was in an x-rated movie. Isn’t it always the way. Well we now have two to lose. Give us a chance I’m sure we can.
How was your weekend?

The food looks yummy!! It was a rainy weekend here as well. My poor hubs had to photograph a marathon in the pouring rain! He was not a happy camper yesterday. =)
