Ice Water My New Friend
Some of you may recall that I have been working on water loading between meals to address any unnecessary grazing/snacking.

This was the goal that I took on during the last Accountability Mondays series, and it proved to be a GREAT change for me and in fact an improved habit! This is what I have been doing.
First let me back up and tell you about the Accountability Mondays sessions. We’ve had two six week sessions so far this year. Series 3 starts next Monday April 23.
Session 3: April 23 – May 28
The objective of the six week sessions is to meet once a week on Monday morning at 10 am Eastern time by phone. You select a habit to work on whether it is changing a behavior or adding a new behavior. We talk each Monday morning about how the previous week went and what the plan is for being successful the week ahead. It is a brief call but has proven to be very effective for those participating, including myself! Reach me by sending me a note via Ask Tiny Tank as we’d love to have you join us for the next series. All you need is a want to change something, together we can do it.
This past series I choose to work on increasing my water intake. And by doing so, I’ve actually been able to to change my habits so that I am now sticking to my three small meals and then water loading at an opportune time prior to my next meal. I am amazed it all turned out this way. I’ve found by trial and error that my water loading times are at about 10:30 am and 3:30 pm. These times are far enough after my last meal but close enough to my next meal.
The best part of all is that my night time snacking has been replaced with a large glass of ice water! I’m hooked!
Note: we’ve made some changes to the days and times of all of our Weight Loss Surgery Support Group Conference Calls. Check out the new days/times HERE.

I love water too…always have. Just curious…are you able to use a straw? It’s been pounded into us to not use straws after surgery. BUT I love drinking with a straw.

Hi Trish, thanks for your comment. Yes, I use a straw. Keep in mind I am almost 12 years post op. I do recall early post op my surgeon suggesting that we did not use straw. But as a long term post op, my nutritionist has talked about water loading. Water loading not for the early post ops let me remind everyone. And by the way I do not eat and drink at the same time.
