I Love My Tiny Tank

Written by my tiny tank on . Posted in Chronicles, Goals, Love Thyself, My Mountain

Yeah the new year is coming. Everyone is thinking about resolutions. Me, I’ve been reviewing my goals and working on my 2013 goals, aka the revised version. I basically take my goals to the next level each year. Some goals I make a lot of progress on. Others just need to be tweaked. Why didn’t I make more progress on those? I’ll take some time to figure that out. Maybe it was the approach. Well any goal can afford some improvement. In my post True Colors I shared my goals last year.  I’ve been revising these goals.  And here’s how things are working out.

MTT Tees 300 I Love My Tiny Tank

Last year I had a theme.  Love Thyself.

This year my theme will be I Love My Tiny Tank.

Hence the new Limited Edition Tees I strummed up today.

Although I write a personal blog about my weight loss surgery most of my friends and work colleagues are not aware of my surgery.  My blogging has been a private thing for me.  I shared it with a few dear friends.  This year I am going to talk about it openly.

When I had my surgery back in 2000 it was not a secret.  I didn’t preach about it.  But people knew.  Those who asked I shared with them.  A few people came to me and in fact I was able to help based on my experience.

But a lot of life has transpired in 12 years.  Most of the women I know in my community and my work life do not know of my surgery.  They know I am a health nut with very strong feeling about organic foods.  They know I love food.  But I am not sure they know the extent to which I am passionate about helping myself and others beat obesity.

One of my goals this year is going to be to proudly wear My Tiny Tank on my sleeve.  I am the face of obesity.  I know it and I live it.  I am so proud of my tiny tank.  And I want people to know about it.  I am convinced that being open about it will help others get the services they need.

So how about it?

Do you LOVE your Tiny Tank?  After weight loss surgery, learning to use your weight loss surgery tool is the key to losing and maintain your weight loss.

I LOVE MY Tiny Tank.  ”Losing the weight is one thing.  Keeping it off is another.”  Leveraging our Tiny Tanks is the key to our success.

Let’s commit to loving our Tiny Tanks.

Grab this Limted-Edition Tee and get committed to Loving Your Tiny Tank in 2013.

I need to find 50 of us who LOVE our TINY TANKS.  Maybe you do.  Maybe you know your friend does.  Buy one for yourself, buy one for her!

Or I’ll be buying them all in 21 days!!!

Oh and for you guys!  I promise to make a limited edition guys shirt soon!  My boys have already scolded me for making it PINK!

More on my goals for 2013 tomorrow!

Hi Dixie, yes it is that time a year again. Resolutions. I actually don’t like that word…resolutions. I prefer goals. It seems more measurable. I was able to post mine today. I think I might work on them a bit more. I was happy with my progress towards goals this year. Perhaps the T-shirts are my treat to myself. I can’t wait to get them! thanks for following my blog and for your comments it means a lot to me.

    You are just awesome!!! I am terrified of regain and maintenance, and watching you gives me hope and calm. i have got to have one of those shirts. My only problem will be deciding what size to get. I’ll have to take my measurements and see if you can compare it to a sizing chart or something. :-) {{{WLS Hugs}}}

Hi Tracy. Thanks for your kind words. You could make me blush! Regain only happens if we lose track. That’s what happened to me. I ignored my needs after I had my son and I did not take care of myself. It is a mistake I try to make sure others dont make :)
Maintenance is a time to stay calm. You will have some gain. In fact you will have a range of weight. That is what maintenance is all about a maintenance range. Before I had my son it was 165-172. You will learn to feel comfortable in a range. No need to be afraid, trust in yourself and your Tiny Tank!!! Yes please do buy a T-shirt and one for a friend!! We need to sell 50 in order to get them made!! As for size, there is a size chart that will help you make the right choice. Me I always like a T-shirt a little bigger and then I wear it as a sleep shirt! thanks again for your comments Tracy I appreciate it!

I’ve not had weight loss surgery, but I can so relate to your weight maintenance plans. I love how you own it and work to maintain what you’ve earned. Bravo. Good for you and good for those who can learn from you.

    Onward.

Cheering you on for 2013!!! Karen P. (almost 11 months into 70+ weight maintenance)

Hi Karen, thanks for your comment. Yeah even though I lost my weight by weight loss surgery in many ways my maintenance strategies work for many people. My close girlfriends follow my blog and none of them had weight loss surgery but they find help in following my struggles and successes. I’ve had a chance to follow your blog! Nice to have found each other.

Love the shirt idea. And I’ve always believed in sharing of my WLS story. However I’m like you, I don’t hide it but I also don’t shout it out at the top of my lungs.
I recently went over my goals from last year. I completed all but 3 of them and the top 3 at that. So I must work harder to complete them this year and also think about adding new ones.

Hi Mary, thank you for your kind words! I am so happy my blogging ways have helped your journey. Way back when, when I had surgery I had no other friends to talk to about weight loss surgery and what it was like. My blog is so helpful for me as a vehicle to work out my “things” and on the way it is helping others. I couldn’t be happier about that! Plus I meet so many great people like you. You all make such a difference in my life. Really makes my day when I get a comment from followers. thanks for yours!!!

I am so happy that I found your web site! My 2yr RNY Surgiversary is on 1/11/13. I’ve seen lots of blogs and vlogs about WLS, but yours is the longest post op I’ve found. Thank you!! I realize as newbies, there’s a lot of excitement with the rapid weight loss, but after the newness wears off, they seem to disappear from our community. I really appreciate that you’re still providing information and support to us. I have not done well with making goals and coming up with actions to complete them. However, I am making them for 2013. Thanks again!

Hi Julie. So glad we found each other. And congratulations on your upcoming anniversary. 2 years out is a great time to start drafting some goals. Get some ideas down on paper. You are heading into true maintenance time. Keep in mind that goals don’t always have to be about the scale or exercise. Sometimes changing other behaviors we have that lead to behaviors we demonstrated when we were obese. Maybe managing certain relationships or other practices we have. I try to make sure I have a good range of improvement areas. thanks for your comments and I look forward to your future comments.

I wish I had gotten one of the t-shirts. Mother-in-law passed away right before your campaign ended, so I had to conserve funds. If you ever do this again… I’m sure you’ll post it and I won’t pass it up! I love your “Love my tiny tank” theme… because that’s what it’s about. Learning to love ourselves, the tool we are given and taking care of it. Love!!!
