EatSmart Kitchen Scale Give-away

Written by my tiny tank on . Posted in Chronicles, Giveaways, Planning/Tracking Your Food, Product Review

I am so excited to share with you my review of the EatSmart PrecisionPro Kitchen Scale!  Karen from EatSmart products and I recently connected and decided to do a give-away together.  Since I did not own an EatSmart scale, Karen sent one to me and the Whistler and I have been working it out!  We have been weighing everything!

The first thing I liked about the EatSmart scale was that it was small.  This is a good thing when it comes to a kitchen appliance. I like my kitchen clean and organized, a small appliance means  I can easily slide it into a kitchen drawer and pop it out when I need it.  I love this!

Here is it.

It is a very simple and easy to use scale.  Comes with a guidebook and two batteries.  All you have to do is open the box and you are ready to go!

It could not have been any easier.

The second thing I liked about this scale is that it’s interface is SO simple!!  There are only two buttons!  But with only two buttons there is FULL functionality. More functions than my current scale.

The third thing I really liked about the scale was that it has four units of measurement; grams, kilograms, ounces, and pounds.  I found this surprising as any scale I’ve ever used has only 2 units and I’m always having to convert.  But not with this scale.  You can choose!

And there’s more…

The next thing I loved was the Tare feature.  Taring is a function that allows you to subtract the weight of your plate or bowl.  This is a MUST for me.  I always use paper plates when I am measuring out my ingredients.  You can see below how easy it is to use this function.

eatsmart 4 EatSmart Kitchen Scale Give away eatsmart 5 EatSmart Kitchen Scale Give away eatsmart 6 EatSmart Kitchen Scale Give away

I started out with my pear at 7.8 oz.  But if I was cutting it up I’d rather measure the juicy pear slices on the plate so I don’t get my scale all sticky.  So I will place the plate on the scale and zero out the scale.  This allows the scale to ignore the weight of the plate which as you can see is .25 oz.  But after Taring the plate you can see in the final photo that the pear and the plate are still just 7.8 oz.  Plate weight NOT included.  Love this!!

If you haven’t used a tare function, once you do you will never go back.  This scale has it!!

Well this is a mighty good scale.  It withstood my eight year olds measurement challenges and I loved its small, functional, easy to use features!!

It’s now MINE and goodbye to my old scale!

Now who wants one?

Karen at EatSmart has a PrecisionPro Kitchen Scale for one lucky winner!!

Use the Rafflecopter widget below to enter the give-away.

There are many ways to get entries into the give-away, you can even come back and enter each day.  The give-away ends at midnight on February 9th ET.

Weighing and measuring my food helps keep me accountable for what goes in my mouth.

Hi Jessica. I could feed an army the way I cook. Over the years I’ve learned to use measuring devices when I cook AND serve. Not only for myself but for my family. On many occasions I’ve served my husband and his response has been “do you really think I can eat this much?” Today I typically measure when I serve anyone. I don’t have a good eye for estimating. thanks for commenting!

Hi Cindy. I had that WW scale that was kind of like a bowl on top. With all the plastic disks that you slide into it. I had that for long. Finally got rid of it. This EatSmart scale is so easy. Thanks for your comment.

I was thinking of the WW scale that is like 25+ years ago, where the plate or bowl barely stayed on it; no digital read out just a lever that went up and down on the number. LoL! Not even sure it went up to 8 oz.

The reason I had WLS was either the choice of life or death…Weighing 550 pounds I had a foot in the grave and i am blessed to have a great Dr that gave me the tool (lap band) that saved my life… Also great family and friends and new friends that I have met on my journey that are absolutley great….

Hi Daniel. Thanks for commenting! And sharing your story. At 5’3″ and 325 pounds I felt close to death. I prayed that I would survive the WLS. That I would wake up. I too found that with my WLS came new friends. Active friends. Ones with a healthy look on life.

A good quality scale with all those functions are a must post WLS. That was so nice of them to send you them! I don’t know the price for EatSmart scale, but I purchased my digital scale at Walmart. It has the same 2 buttons, 4 different measure options (grams, z, etc) and taring function (isn’t that smart?). Mine cost $9.99. I’m not trying to take anything away from the EatSmart scale. In fact, I love it when companies create tools to help us be successful, especially when they are donating them.
ps-heard you on the WLS Success Matters phone support group this morning!! Talk about giving s WLS peeps tools for success!!!! I signed up for their Weekly Weigh-In group too.

Hi Julie! Yes that was me on WLS Success Matters conference call yesterday. I so wanted to get on the call and support Wendy and Sandi. Saturdays are hard for me. Wish I could have stayed longer or focused more on the call. Next time!!
The EatSmart scale is nice. I was surprised by the small size and the level of functionality. If you click on the images in the blog post they will take you to Amazon where the scale sells forn $25.
$9.99 is a great price for a scale. Walmart does it right! Can you share with us which scale it is? thanks for your comment.

I checked the scale, but there isn’t a manufacturer name on it. It is about 5″x6″ and was the only digital scale available at walmart.

I so need a new scale. I still have my very, very old WW scale. My mom bought me a new one for Christmas, but it is so HUGE and ridiculous that I just won’t use it. Plus, I have a very small and extremely picky pouch. I find weighing and measuring helps me not to upset her!

I am only 3 weeks out and it has been a struggle for me. I have a very cheap kitchen scale but it doesnt work all that great. I want a digital one but I cant afford to buy another product right now. I think it will help me make sure I am eating the amounts I am supposed to without going over. I am sure my eyeballing is not benefitting my weight loss.

I decided to have WLS to save my life. I was denied by insurance because I own a small business and they would not even consider it 7 years ago. Not only do I pay for the surgery, I switched insurance companies took, RYN was the best thing that I have ever done for myself and I would spend the money again in a heart beat. I would find a way.

Hi Dorothy, you are a person who did what it took. I admire that. I too would do it all over again. I’d switch up a few of my own post op mistakes but other than that Take 2 would be my option. I am here blogging in hopes that I can help others NOT make the mistakes I made post op. thanks so much for your comment!!

Hey! I have one of these, and I love it. I got it 2+ years ago just before my surgery. I replace a mechanical one I had that was hard to read — if I put 3 oz of something in, and then moved and viewed the measurement from a different angle, it was off. This scale is soooo much better, and easy-peasy to use! :)

I buy cheese in bulk, and then weigh out 1 oz portions. I pack them up in snack-size ziplocks, and they are ready to go for lunches or snacks. MUCH cheaper than buying pre-packaged string cheeses or babybels!
