Bring in Some New

Written by my tiny tank on . Posted in Chronicles, Head Work, Living Life

I’m not hiding it. I’m struggling with the dead of winter. I did see lots of sun today! It made a world of difference for me. I had all the shades pulled way up to let it all in. Something else I noticed today was that I need some new things. I am not a spender so the idea that I am going to go buy some stuff is a bit radical.

Here’s how it all happened.  This will be comical to some. It started with this, a tweet.

I was working at my desk, sun streaming into my home office and I could not find a $@#%^ pen that appealed to me. I had a whole pot of them! What the heck. I made a decision right then and there. I marched right over to the barrel and tossed all of them. I decided to use a pencil until I found a pen I actually liked. I’m going to BUY some pens. eeeeeeekk! Who buys pens? I usually get them from the plumber or the rug cleaner or my favorite was from the Septic guy!! LOL.

So I’d like to solicite you for pen ideas.  I’ve had a few suggestions on my Facebook Page.  Pilot G2′s, Pilot V5s, Sharpie Rollerballs.  What else?  What pens do you like?  I am going to buy some new ones and I want input before I pay money for pens.

I know I am off my rocker.

But I was thinking, why settle?  Why settle for things you don’t like.

Why eat food that doesn’t appeal to you?  Find some recipes that meet your needs and taste good.  Try something new.  Reminds me of my previous post; I Only Eat Food I Like.

Why wear clothing that doesn’t fit anymore?  Go out and buy yourself at least one new piece of clothing to make you feel new.  It will get you through.  It will be something new for you.  You deserve it.

Why continue to surround yourself with people who don’t understand your new lifestyle?  Find a support group.  Find someone you connect with.  Find a new healthy lifestyle friend.  Someone you can share new ideas with and receive support from.  Someone you can walk with or ride bikes.

New is good.  In fact it helps us reach our goals.

Why settle for the old way.  We’ve changed our life for a reason.  Expand the “area of change” in your life.  It will help you get to your goal.

It certainly helped me today when I tossed those %$@*+ pens!

Ahhhhhh

I feel so much better.

I love pens. I am a geek. I buy pens (favorite pen store: levenger.com). I have several fountain pens that I adore from there, but my “go-to” pens are their roller balls. While I went through a fountain pen phase, even with cartridges, fountain pens can be messy and run out of ink quicker. So I got some of their roller balls & refills (I love the fiber tip) and am very happy with those. I love the feel & weight of them in my hand. Of course that still doesn’t stop me from buying other pens when I see something that catches my eye at Target or the grocery store or office store. Yes, I am a geek. :-)

Hi Julia. I like the felt tips too. But they seem to dry up quickly.

Want pens? I can send you some!

My favorite pens are free ones! I haven’t bought a pen in years. I’m a nurse and the drug companies used to leave them by the box where I work. I also ‘collect’ pens when I go to conferences. I am also a self admitted pen thief. Don’t lend me a pen, you are likely not to get it back. :)

Seriously, right now my favorite of all those is my green pen from BIC (we use different colors at work and probably ‘borrowed’). It’s a roller ball pen, Z4+ is what it says on the side. Very fluid and easy on the hand too.

I’m with you, I’m a bit picky about pens, but somehow I have a pen cup full of pens I avoid using. I’m so picky I even bring pens I like to work.
I love the Uni-Ball Vision Elite pens – nice flow, no blobs, but most of all, the tip’s not too fine. I much prefer a medium-tip pen for some reason. I got a huge pack at Costco – apparently I should pick up another pack next time I go and toss the old pens!

Hi Beth. I threw them all out. Why keep them? Now I’m on the prowl for pens I like.

I’ve always been a pen freak! I love colored pens of all shades. I love fine point the best. Not sure why, but the finer the better for me. Otherwise I feel like I tend to write huge if it’s not a fine point. My favorite pen that I’ve found lately are Tul. I believe they are sold at Office Max. Love them. The fine point are really fine and they write so yummy!!!

Hi Cindy. I am a large writer. Must be why I like felt tip. I’m a loud talker and big writer. Maybe there’s some correlation there?!
