A Day in My Tiny Tank

Written by my tiny tank on . Posted in A Day in My Tiny Tank, Breakfasts, Chronicles, Planning/Tracking Your Food, Protein Shakes, Vitamins, Water Loading

Man was it hard to get out of bed this morning!  It is so dark now when I wake up.  Arghhhh!  Lying in bed I thought I am due for writing up what A Day in My Tiny Tank blog post.  Not sure if today will be a typical day but it’s random and I will show you what I ate throughout the day for a 12 year post op RNY Weight Loss Surgery girl.  Here goes:

I’ve never been a good eater in the morning post op.  And even though I can now eat earlier I choose not to for a couple of reasons.  1.  I love my tea ritual.  And if I drink my tea I can’t eat too soon after.  Why because I do follow the rules.  And eating my breakfast with my tea would break the no drink before and after your meals weight loss surgery rule.

So this is how I start my day

(CLICK on the picture it will give you more info about the Tazo Chai tea if you want to try it)

I use about a tablespoon of half & half or cream in my tea.  Yes, that is a mini measuring device.  No I don’t measure everyday but I recommend knowing how much you are getting.  So I measure things that I eat regularly so I know how much it is.  I call my amount of cream a “splash.”

I love love love my tea and there is a lot of it.  So I enjoy it and in fact I take my vitamins with my tea.  I’ve record my vitamin regime here if you’d like to  take a peek.

It’s still quiet in my house, amazing!  Ahhh

oh yeah!  efficiency note here:  many times when I make my hot tea in the morning I make an extra tea or two in Bell Jars so I can have iced chai tea latte later.  Ahhhhhh I love my tea.

Sometimes I can make it to lunch without eating anything else.  Now don’t get wiggy on me.  If I’m hungry I eat.  If I’m not (in the morning) I don’t.  It is something that works for me 12 years post weight loss surgery.  I listen to my body.

If I need soemthing it is usually around 10 ish and I will have a piece of fruit or a Babybel Cheese.

And that is exactly what happened today.  A couple of Babybel at 10:30 ish while on a conference call.

For lunch I went for a Protein Shake.  I live for a chocolate banana smoothie.  It’s quick and packed with protein.  AND DELICIOUS!  My protein of choice for this smoothie is from Wellness Resources.  It’s called Daily Protein and it comes in different basic flavors.

I am amazed every time I have this smoothie that it tastes so good without added sweeteners.  The banana kicks in with the natural flavors.  I’m not a sugar person and can’t stand artificial sweeteners.  That is why I love Wellness Resources Daily Protein so much, it’s not full of artifical sweeteners.

It Tastes Good

I have to mention I make my smoothies in my VITAMIX!  That’s a whole seperate blog.  I’m in love with my VITAMIX it runs at least once a day in my house and sometimes more than once.  My husband takes a smoothie to work everyday!  If you need a good blender.  I can’t call it a blender.  It is a monster!  Take advantage of the affiliate agreement I have with VITAMIX and get yourself free shipping on a new MONSTER!  you won’t regret it. Click on any of my vitamix links or the add in my side bar.  If you prefer to talk to someone you can call and reference my COUPON code 06-003060 and they will give you free shipping.

In the afternoon I had 5 Macadamia nuts to get me through.  (not pictured). A good source of Omega 6 fat, some calorie and yummy.  A small quick on the go snack.  You must be careful not to eat too many.  I eat 5!

What’s for Dinner!

Tonight the family is having Hamburgers!!!

I love making them this way!  Got this idea from The Pioneer Woman and the picture itself made me HAVE TO HAVE THESE!!

I actually wrap the lettuce around the burger so you can pick it up with your hands.  Use a nice juicy premium ground beef and you will have the taste delight of your day.  I have to say I look forward to this meal.  Now for me I use half a patty so about 2oz of meat with a little mustard, catsup and tomato!  It’s about all I can eat no sides.  But yummy!

Here’s a picture of my Low Carb Burger.  Yum with Blue Cheese.

Finished my meal with a little Theo’s Dark Chocolate.

There you have it a day in my tiny tank.  Randomly picked.  And may I say I don’t eat the same way everyday, but this was today.  Thanks for reading!

Wow, you sure can get by on just a bit of food. That’s how I ate about the first three years. Now, 10 years later I am waaaay hungrier than that. Most people I know that had surgery are hungry now too.

Trish this is one of my favorite meals right now. I usually use iceberg lettuce I has Romaine last night. Iceberg I think is better. I tried bluecheese last and it was sooo good.

Know what you mean! Here in Central NY, we’re getting ready for the deep freeze to arrive. Dark in the AM until around 7 and dark at night by 6.
